Optimal Dental Health and Wonderful Smiles

As a dentist, I work hard to teach my patients about their oral health. Teaching a person how to take control of the health of their smile, giving them the knowledge, and encouraging them, is rewarding. When I see a patient make positive changes in their home care and achieve their healthiest smile, I am glad for them.

It is a blessing to spend my days with people of all ages and from different backgrounds and learning who they are. Our conversations create a bond of trust and I find that helps even the most nervous patient relax and feel secure.

I feel I make a difference in each patient’s life. Whether I’m helping someone improve their smile or relieving their dental pain, they are happier and healthier as a result. My happiest moments are seeing a patient’s smile when we’ve completed a treatment plan and achieved their dental goals, together!  Dr. Joseph Szabo

Personal Life

Dr. Szabo grew up and lived in West Seattle until he moved to Ann Arbor, MI, for dental school. He then lived in Perrysburg, OH, before returning to the Pacific Northwest. He now lives in Bothell, WA, with his wife – and best part of his life – Dr. Cindy Du. They have two young sons, Leo, who loves to eat and occasionally scream at the top of his lungs, and Landon who is growing quickly! The family is rounded out by their two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Cocoa and Mocha.

When he’s not in the office and seeing patients, Dr. Szabo is working at home: studying, learning, and taking continuing education courses. Once that’s done, it’s family time. He enjoys taking Cindy, Leo, and Landon around town, trying new restaurants, and on various adventures. They love spending time at the park and traveling.

In what free time remains, Dr. Szabo can be found running, cycling, practicing yoga, and losing himself in a good book. He’s also working on improving his Mandarin, his wife’s native tongue.
